About the Author
Nancy Gaylard is in Klerksdorp gebore en het verder in Mpumalanga grootgeword. Sy het ’n loopbaan in die gasvryheidsbedryf nagestreef en vir meer as 25 jaar met kliënte gewerk.
In 2012 het Nancy haar eie konsultasiemaatskappy begin, met die fokus op kliëntediens. Gedurend hierdie tyd het sy baie met Dowe mense gewerk en haar passie ontdek.
Nancy se debuutkinderboek, Ayen’s first day, is in September 2022 uitgegee en is ’n wonderlike hulpmiddel waarmee kinders bekendgestel kan word aan mense met gestremdhede, veral Dowe mense. Sedert die publikasie is Nancy op ’n missie om haar boeke se boodskap oral te verkondig.
Nancy woon in Johannesburg saam met haar man, seun, en hond, Steven.
About the Illustrator
Thuto Mvulane is a 27 year old digital artist from Krugersdorp. Self taught, he started illustrating in 2017 and has been freelancing ever since.
His specialty is 3D art, and in 2022 he brought life to the Once Upon a Sign children’s book series.
