Learner Guide Book 1 (Topics 1–14) introduces the fundamentals of renewable energy systems (solar, wind, hydro, geothermal, biomass and emerging technologies) together with South Africa’s energy challenges, policy frameworks and the legislation governing renewable energy installations.

Learner Guide Book 2 (Topics 15–25) deepens safety competence (incident reporting, evacuation procedures, radiation hazards) and strengthens technical understanding of electricity fundamentals, circuits, power generation and electronic concepts.

Book 2 also equips learners with the correct use, safety and maintenance of hand tools, power tools, marking-off equipment, lifting equipment, soldering tools, wiring methods and riveting equipment.
