Kita doesn’t think that story is true. Mama just doesn’t want her to get her pretty dress all dirty with the red dust.
One afternoon, Kita learns what Mama is talking about.
About the Author
Vennessa Scholtz grew up in the northern suburbs of Cape Town as the eldest of three siblings. She became a journalist and won several awards for her writing.
She writes poetry and continues to write stories that resonate with children and adults alike. Vennessa believes one of the biggest gifts we can give our children is a love of reading, as it gives flight to the imagination and opens doors to a whole universe of knowledge.
