Author: Barbara Esham
Format: Paperback
An Encouraging Story about Boundaries, Independence, and Taking Pride in Your Work
An uplifting science fair picture book about independence, boundaries, and taking pride in your work
Dylan is excited to participate in the Morecaster School Science Fair. This is his chance to create something entirely his own—and maybe even win the prize for Most Interesting Science Project!
There's just one small problem. Dylan's parents are very enthusiastic about school projects. Sometimes a little too enthusiastic.
Determined that this year's project will be truly his, Dylan sets up his own workspace and makes a bold decision: this science fair entry will be all his own work. As he works for weeks, resisting comparisons to classmates' elaborate displays and creating clear boundaries with his well-meaning helpers, Dylan learns that doing your best matters more than being perfect.
On the big day, surrounded by towering volcanoes, flashy experiments, and lots of excitement, Dylan stands proudly beside his project—knowing the hard work is all his. And when the judges recognize not just the final result but the dedication behind it, Dylan discovers something even more important than a trophy.
