This novel focuses on the life experiences of Siphikeleli. Brought up by Velazeke Mahlathini, he is unaware that his biological father is a known criminal and social miscreant, Bhekezabantu Buthelezi, who had an affair with Siphikeleli’s mother MaMthembu.
Siphikeleli encounters numerous challenges in life, including his girlfriend Thobile, who does not want to be with him anymore. Even though he seems to have so much on his plate, these challenges are eventually resolved.
More significantly, his promise to Thobile, that only death will keep them apart, is fulfilled.
