Die tusseninners
Author(s): Zelda Bezuidenhout
Format: Paperback
Max se lewe is verby. Sy sal moet trek. ’n Ander identiteit kry.
Max's life is over. She will have to move. Get a new identity. She has committed social suicide. Her and her best friend Bibi's favourite game, Fast Forward, turns into a disaster after she accidentally sends a mocking message to the grade 10 group – where everyone can read it. She is immediately kicked out of the group, and they are both excluded from the grade's planned "Halfway done" celebrations.
Max and Bibi, along with the new guy Jonatan, form an unlikely trio and instead plan their own celebration at Jonatan's uncle's smallholding. They organize a movie night that also becomes a fundraiser to help Max's grandmother's roommate. But the evening is full of challenges and surprises that threaten to derail their plans. Together, they realise that life isn't necessarily better as part of the "it crowd".
Die Tusseninners, a hilarious and relatable new coming-of-age story from the pen of Zelda Bezuidenhout, is for every high schooler who doesn't feel like they belong and just exist in the in-between spaces.
