Die seun met die swaeltjie
Author: Fanie Viljoen
Format: Paperback
Recommended for ages 11+
“You have a good heart, Tumelo. But remember, family is important. We look after each other first.”
One afternoon, Tumelo picks up a swallow in the field. She is weak and injured, but he wants to make her healthy. Fumane must fly again.
Soon, Tumelo becomes like that swallow.
A bad thing happens in their family:
First with his mother.
And then with his father.
Tumelo and his sisters are left alone in their tin house in the township.
What is he going to do now?
Lie helplessly?
Or can he fly again?
