Product Description

Basic Nursing Ethics in Practice (3rd edition)

Authors: C Davis, L Henderson, M Merrington, FM Mulaudzi, JD Mokoena, R Troskie

Format: Physical Hardcopy

Ethics involve thinking about human behaviour in terms of what is considered to be right or wrong according to our moral judgement. In nursing, ethics take the form of caring and professional conduct in a profession practised by individuals who support and care deeply for patients and their families when they are under stress.

This third edition of Basic Nursing Ethics in Practice has been updated and improved to meet the new curriculum requirements. It aims to equip nursing students with the necessary skills and techniques to navigate ethical challenges and dilemmas. The authors make extensive use of case studies and practical examples to steer students through the complexities of ethical decision making.

A new chapter has been included to guide students on the appropriate use of social media in the healthcare setting and how to take full advantage of the opportunities it provides. About the authors Mavis Mulaudzi heads the Department of Nursing Science and is currently the chairperson of the School of Health Care Sciences at the University of Pretoria.

Joyce Mokoena is a senior lecturer and associate professor in the Department of Nursing at the Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University. Rosemaré Troskie is an emeritus professor of the Department of Nursing Science at the University of South Africa.
